What is iAquaLink? How is iAquaLink 2.0 different from the original version?
iAquaLink is a system: a connecting device (iAquaLink 2.0), a power center (AquaLink TRi), a web service, and a set of mobile and web apps to allow pool owners and pool professionals easy, convenient control of the pool system, from web-connected devices. iAquaLink 2.0 and the first generation iAquaLink devices provide the same end-user experience.
iAquaLink 2.0 contains Wi-Fi communication enhancements making it easier to connect device to home Wi-Fi networks. Some of the features include: a stronger Wi-Fi signal for increased range and support for both 802.11b & 802.11g so that it can communicate with a wider selection of commercially available Wi-Fi routers without having to change the router's settings. It also eliminates the need for an on-site computer installation. With iAquaLink 2.0, the homeowner or pool professional can credential the device (setup the Wi-Fi network name & passphrase) using any smartphone or Wi-Fi enabled device. iAquaLink 2.0 offers a faster, more streamlined Wi-Fi installation experience.

iAquaLink 2.0 does not require these. iAquaLink2.0 is set up using a smartphone or tablet, or using WPS push button Wi-Fi setup technology.

What if I already have other user interfaces?
If you already have an AquaLink control system with other interfaces (availability depending on countries), you can continue to use them with iAquaLink, however they are not necessary - iAquaLink can be your only interface.
Is there any advantage to using a “hard-wired” interface?
iAquaLink is the easiest to use, most powerful interface we've ever made. Because it takes advantage of existing computers, and web-connected devices, there are no unsightly wires to route through the home, wall panels, or charging bases required.
iAquaLink 2.0 does require an Internet connection, as does the interface being used to control it (smartphone, tablet, computer, etc.).
Can I share control with family, friends, or pool service companies?
Yes, you can share control with anyone you choose. iAquaLink is extremely flexible: everyone can share one iAquaLink account and password, or each person can set up their own account with their own password. The homeowner ultimately chooses who has access to the pool.
What can be controlled using iAquaLink?
Virtually all pool equipment and settings can be controlled using iAquaLink. It's like having control of the pool in your smartphone. With iAquaLink, you can monitor and control pumps, pool lights, temperature settings, heating systems, water features such as waterfalls, water jets, spill-overs, and more. Outside the pool, landscape lights can also be controlled. The choices of what iAquaLink can control are only limited by your imagination.
What if I have multiple pools, or more than one home?
Multiple pools and multiple locations can be operated from the same app, with just one log-in. To change the pool being controlled, just touch the settings tab and select the location you wish to control. It doesn't get any easier.
How about Security? Can I remove someone's access to my pool?
The homeowner has full control of who has access to the iAquaLink. While connected to the home network (the same network the iAquaLink 2.0 is connected to), you can remove your pool from other user accounts. Your iAquaLink 2.0 device is as secure as the network it is connected to. Reasonable steps can be taken to secure your home network - such as changing the SSID (the network name), not broadcasting the SSID, or changing the network password (sometimes referred to as passphrase or key). Because all routers are slightly different, detailed instructions on how to do this may be found in the owner's manual for the router, or by contacting the router manufacturer's customer or technical support department.
Can I install iAquaLink 2.0 myself?
Installing an automation system with iAquaLink 2.0 is not a DIY project. Installing the iAquaLink 2.0 device can involve working in close proximity to high-voltage, high-current electrical systems which have the potential to cause severe injury or death. It also requires detailed knowledge of how a pool automation system operates. Only a licensed, qualified pool professional or electrician should attempt to install iAquaLink, and only after having read and understood all warnings contained in the Quick Start Guide or the AquaLink TRi installation manual.
Does iAquaLink support multiple languages?
iAquaLink currently supports English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Swedish with more to come in the future. In addition, the iAquaLink apps will detect the language used on the smart phone or tablet, and use that language as the default.
